Welcome to Edith Wharton's Library! This site displays searchable image files for the books contained in Wharton's library at The Mount, her historic estate in Lenox, MA.
The cover features an illustration of a woman holding Sock and Buskin (ancient Greek) style drama masks on a ribbon, colored in red, blue, green, yellow, black, and white. The cover is mostly red with black text.
Edited by Giovanni Mestica, the poems are written circa 1350. Duplicate copy in Wharton’s possession, but bound in full vellum decorated gilt, with more markings.
