Title

Buch der Freunde
Subject
Hofmannsthal, Hugo von
Description
This book is a collection of aphorisms that range in theme. The ideas that he goes through in this book include events and insights from characterizing historical figures. He also uses stories and ideas from his childhood to bring to life some of the stories and commentaries he puts together.
The title page starts at the top with the author and the title. At the bottom of the page, there is the publication date and information. This page is very thin because the words on the following page are almost legible.
This page also has significant mold damage scattered throughout and only minor insect damage.
Ramsden states in his catalog that there are several passages marked and other pages unopened. He points out that this edition has a morocco label inset to the upper board and is made with half vellum.
