This book follows the life and philosophy of David Hume. There is also, in the end, some essays that were directed towards the audience of learners at Berkeley.

This is Volume 6 of 9 in the collection of Huxley's Collected Essays.

The title page starts with the title, subtitles and author's name. At the bottom of the page, the publication information and the date. The quality of this page is great with minimal insect damage. There is a horizontal pencil mark on the right-hand side of the page.

On page viii, there is a vertical line in pencil in the left-hand margin marking the first paragraph indent.

On page ix, there are two different vertical lines in pencil in the right-hand margin marking the paragraph ending on the top of the page and then the first nine lines of the first full paragraph.

On page xii, there is a vertical line in pencil in the left-hand margin marking the first full paragraph.
